The Nanhai Power Plant No.1 "Cogeneration" environmental protection power plant, which is wholly owned in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China, is the world's largest 2 × 200MW clean energy thermal power unit that burns coal water slurry. It also has the world's largest coal water slurry preparation plant.
The unit of Nanhai Power Plant 1 was originally a 2 × 200MW heavy oil fired unit, but now it has been changed to a coal water slurry fired unit, which is a high-tech project. This project complies with the first item of "Development and utilization of clean coal technology products (coal gasification, coal water slurry)" in "22. Other manufacturing industries" of "III. Manufacturing Industry" in the Catalogue of Industries Encouraged for Foreign Investment.
Coal water slurry is a clean fuel, which is a coal based liquid fuel made by mixing coal and water. It has similar fluidity and certain stability to fuel oil, and can be transported and stored in tanks through pipelines like fuel oil. It can also be atomized and burned in the furnace. As a new type of industrial fuel, coal water slurry has significant advantages in environmental protection, transportation, and storage compared to industrial coal and fuel oil.
The water coal slurry project of Nanhai Power Plant has been in operation for more than ten years since the completion of the technical renovation. After years of operation and management, the unit currently has good output and meets environmental emission standards; Especially with a significant reduction in the plant power consumption rate of the unit, the goal of energy conservation and consumption reduction can be greatly achieved. In addition, the application of coal water slurry in power boilers eliminates the disadvantages of coal dust flying, explosion, and exhaust pollution. Compared with coal combustion, it has the advantages of less pollutant emissions, better energy conservation, and environmental benefits. The Jingxin Group organized a high-quality team to conduct technical research and development, and finally succeeded in developing it. So far, it is the world's largest clean energy thermal power unit that burns coal water slurry, which is a major breakthrough in high-tech in this field. It has attracted many experts from countries such as Russia and Japan to visit and learn, and has won honor for our country.
